Our Team

Our History

Our History

In February 2016, Still Waters Services for Families in Transition incorporated and created the Tukwila Weekend Snack Pack Program and our team believes in order to achieve educational equity in Tukwila Schools, all students deserve access to nutrition in order to focus, learn, and stay healthy.

Our History

Our History

Our History

With nearly 80 percent of Tukwila School District students are eligible for free and reduced lunch the Tukwila Weekend Snack Pack program is an important food resource for families when school meals are not available.

-STILL WATER'S ATTENDS GRATITUDE ASSEMBLY AT TUKWILA ELEMENTARY -

important part of our kids well-being

"The weekend snackpack bags mean everything to our students.  They are coveted! I have kids begging for them. "Why can't I get a food bag?"  "How do I get on the list?" I can imagine in many places that there may be a stigma attached to receiving these bags, but not here! Weekend Snackpacks are such a important part of our kids' well-being, thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

-Ms. Kimberly Goodman , Social Worker - Thorndyke Elementary

INCLUSIVENESS

We embrace diversity, inclusion and equity in deep and transformative ways. We aspire to be inclusive in the way that we engage and learn from board, staff, and community leaders, and to model our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in all that we do.

SERVICE

We are responsive and flexible. We build relationships. We meet people where they are and listen to people’s lived experiences to effectively address community needs.

COMMUNITY

We are better together. We collectively co-create solutions in service for each other. We appreciate the gifts, strengths, and community cultural wealth from our youth, neighbors, and each other.

THANK YOU SHOWALTER MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR YOUR PARTNERSHIP

COMMUNITY PROJECT

VIKING pANTRY

January 2023 we were able to start a pantry at our school partners Showalter Middle School. We listened on how distribution of weekend meals would work for them and this is what they suggested! We are still in need of hygiene products and food donations to continue and this is only the beginning.

Thank you to Ms. Maryan Abdow - Community & Quality Engagement Specialist for Students and Families from the Tukwila School District, Ms. Sonya Marano - College Bond College & Career Readiness Specialist from Showalter Middle School and Ms. Sophia Nappa - Site Coordinator from Community of Schools for your efforts in this community project.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
