In February 2016, Still Waters Services for Families in Transition incorporated and created the Tukwila Weekend Snack Pack Program and our team believes in order to achieve educational equity in Tukwila Schools, all students deserve access to nutrition in order to focus, learn, and stay healthy.
With nearly 80 percent of Tukwila School District students are eligible for free and reduced lunch the Tukwila Weekend Snack Pack program is an important food resource for families when school meals are not available.
Leading with our mission, we support families overcome food insecurities while unhoused. Tukwila Weekend Snack Pack provides shelf stable-kid friendly meals for the weekend to students in Tukwila.
Thank you to Maryan Abdow and Julie Herdt, our Community Engagement Specialists from our Tukwila School District. It took your strong leadership for collaboration with organizations throughout King County for the very successful Resource Fair for all of our families. Still Waters was able to meet new volunteers who were families that also went through our program in the past and wanted to give back.
One of our youngest volunteers from Tukwila Elementary was able to engage with Community in Schools Tukwila-Renton, one of our community enrichment partners and our very supportive team of social workers at the Art Therapy table.
-You Matter-
Westfield Mall's management team came out for their volunteer day to help pack and deliver to our neighboorhood schools where Westfield Mall is located in, Tukwila!
They were able to visit and tour our schools and meet staff and our students. We would also like to thank you for your kind donation to help us continue our program!

Thank you LSG SKY CHEFS, for hosting a HUGE food drive contest within each department and donating food. Still Waters was able to take a tour with our van and load it up at Sea-Tac Airport. This will be a great start to create our student pantries in our middle and high school.
Thank you Mr. Joe Duffie for your dedicated time every Thursday at Tukwila Elementary to hand deliver our Tukwila Weekend Snack Packs to all of our classrooms. The students, the staff and community appreciate your service.

THANK YOU SHOWALTER MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR YOUR PARTNERSHIP
January 2023 we were able to start a pantry at our school partners Showalter Middle School. We listened on how distribution of weekend meals would work for them and this is what they suggested! We are still in need of hygiene products and food donations to continue and this is only the beginning.
Thank you to Ms. Maryan Abdow - Community & Quality Engagement Specialist for Students and Families from the Tukwila School District, Ms. Sonya Marano - College Bond College & Career Readiness Specialist from Showalter Middle School and Ms. Sophia Nappa - Site Coordinator from Community of Schools for your efforts in this community project.
Thank you to Angie Cerny, City of Tukwila employee for organizing a food drive and donations from our Foster Golf Link Members. Your community partnership is appreciated.
